Flooding and Storm Damage
The Town Clerk reported how well the flood defences operated which were opened in 2012 after a £4 million tidal defence scheme. He would like to thank the volunteers for opening and closing the flood gates and for issuing sand bags to residents and businesses. The defences significantly reduced the damage that Teignmouth could have succumbed to, however care needs to be taken when walking around the town. A great deal of work is being undertaken to repair the damage and a group of volunteers have carried out work on the seafront to clear some of the sand debris.
